My
name is Boris Markhasin and I have been an avid collector
and researcher of Japanese samurai antiques for over 30 years. My admiration has continually grown for the sophistication, subtlety, harmony and power of Japanese art, yet I have barely scratched the surface.
It is my hope that reviewers of this website will take interest in samurai arts, and choose to seriously pursue it as an area of study and collection. I strongly advocate investing in education before delving into potentially expensive purchases.
Unfortunately, there are numerous fakes and misrepresentations in the market, and being a knowledgable collector will allow you to recognize and navigate around poor investments.
Please note that the descriptions and opinions presented are my own, based on my
experience, and are honest and accurate. I take no responsibility in the accuracy
or implied quality representations from third–party judgement papers, which may
accompany certain items offered on this site.
