Kagamishi tsuba (鏡帥鐔), with motif of an interlocking geometric pattern termed Sayagata (紗綾形). The rim has been hammered into an uchikaeshi mimi (打返耳). Tsuba is made of yamagane (山銅地) with a nice brown patina, enhanced by remnant black lacquer on the plate. These types of tsuba were very popular in the second half of the 16th and early 17th centuries.
